Up and Kicking again

Thanksgiving Break

We will have no classes the week of Thanksgiving. Our class on the 24th and the 26th is canceled, we will start back on Dec 1st.

I will be out of town this tuesday Nov 10th, but Wesely Waggoner will lead the class. I'll be back with you on Thursday. Please send your travel mercy prayers for us as we will be going through Nashville and Cookeville for the next couple of days.

Back to kickin!

We are back to our regularly scheduled program folks! Took Tuesday night off to kind of recover after being at Vanderbilt with Beth. Please keep her in your prayers - she was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. She'll be back kicking again next week though!

Revival

No class Tues 10-20-09 due to Revival Sun-Wed at 6:30pm each night. Class will resume Thursday 10-22 at 6:30pm

Pisgah Karate Class

Hello everyone,

This blog is for information on the karate class being taught at Pisgah United Methodist Church in New Johnsonville TN. As we continue with the class I will post information that I hope will be useful to you.

Here is some Basic Information on the class.

The only class we currently offer is a beginner class, for ages 8yrs and up which is being held on Tues and Thurs nights from 6:30-7:30pm. We may add additional classes as time goes on if interest warrants it.

There is no charge for these classes as they are meant to be a community outreach program from Pisgah UMC to promote Christian fellowship, fitness and fun. You are required to sign a release of liability form, for insurance purposes.

I (Rev. Michael Ledbetter) am the instructor for the classes. I received my first degree black belt from United Karate Studio under the instruction of Jack Scott in Cookeville TN in August of 1986.

Wesley Waggoner is a green belt and has been assisting me with the beginner class.

The style taught is American Tae Kwon Do - This is the United Karate Studio's style and mainly consists of traditional Tae Kwon Do with some influences from various other styles including Kung Fu and Akido.
